Welcome to the South Canterbury Model Aero Club

The club is located on the Timaru Redruth Airfield, which is still currently registered as an active airfield.

The club members fly electric, glow and gas fueled aircraft. The biggest event of the year is the Ray Summerfield Fly-in that takes place during Labour weekend in October each year.

We welcome anyone to come and see the activities each Saturday & Sunday morning if the weather is good. Refer to our contact page for details on location.

A great hobby for all ages.
With the advent of modern manufacturing techniques and advances in technology the hobby is now much more accessible to all ages.
If you are at all interested in learning to fly, then for a small fee, the club offers the opportunity of  flying one of the clubs aircraft under the direct supervision on one of the clubs members.
No appointment necessary, dependent on availability and weather on the day.
